Did a little work in the yard. Believe it or not I have had several cantaloupe from my garden, a few tomatoes and zucchini. The hot weather is taking its toll. It’s hard to keep anything alive in the summer. In the afternoon I went to the Library. The cooling unit is out at the Stake Center so all we had for cooling was a fan. It was miserable. We only had one patron.
10 July 1981
This morning Gladys Beals and I went to the Temple. We went to two sessions. The last one was in Spanish. It was interesting. In the afternoon I did a little shopping. Took my ring to the jewelers to be fixed.
11 July 1981
Did some housecleaning. Picked up my ring at the jewelers. Bought a couple of blouses. But for Madge’s phone call in the afternoon it was a lonely day. I try to keep busy and do the things I should but it’s hard to not feel lonely. Had a very light shower this evening.

Today is Sunday. I enjoyed the meeting today. James South from the Stake High Council talked on Gifts of the Spirit. So many gifts are given if we could only receive.
I’m trying to start again to write my history. I haven’t done any thing with it for some time. So many years to think back over. Some good memories and some not so good.
19 July 1981
Today is Sunday again and a whole week since I have written. The week was mostly routine. Jay came for lunch Wednesday. Something I always enjoy. He is so thoughtful of me. It means so much to me right now. I’m having such a hard time adjusting to my new way of life. It’s been six months but things don’t seem to get much better.
I enjoyed the meetings today. This afternoon I wrote some of my history.
