9 March 1980
Today is Sunday; our first Sunday on the new three hour plan. Everything seemed to go well. We had a good attendance at Sacrament Meeting. I hope it will continue.

Today is Madge’s birthday. How well I remember 34 years ago. It was a Sunday. We left for the hospital at 7 am. It was foggy and overcast. Just like it is today. I was so grateful. She has always been a joy to me. We went to Mesa this morning to visit with her awhile. I was in my 34th year when she was born. She was my second child and she is expecting her sixth child in about a week. She has such a lovely family.

We went to a missionary farewell party for Vincent Trim. They had a cake and pie sale to raise money for his fare. It was an auction. They went high: $25 and $30. The lowest was about $10 and the highest $60. They made around $500. He leaves on the 20th. He will go to Belgium.

Went to the Library today. First time I have been since the flood. We were busy. The most people I have seen in the Library.

Cleo Slaughter came out and helped us with our income tax return.
Worked in the yard a bit.

Today is Sunday. It’s hard to get used to our new time schedule. I forgot I have to study my Sunday School and also my Relief Society lesson today. Our Sacrament Meeting was a Missionary Farewell for Vincent Trim. His whole family talked, even his Father who is not a member. It was a good meeting. Vince will make a good missionary.

Em and I were going to Mesa today to help Nancy with the children but Em’s nose started to bleed and we couldn’t get it stopped in time so I had to go alone. I stayed with Jennifer while Nancy took Jeremy for his check up. I enjoy being with the children. I also visited with Madge a few minutes. She just has two weeks before her baby comes.
When I got home all seemed well with Em. His nose bleeds so often lately. It worries me.
