Most of the Carpenters are of a quiet, unassuming, uncomplaining disposition - always ready to support any good work.

Interesting to note a common virtue among the men in the family - always showing kindness and thoughtful concern to their companions and children.

Ora Carpenter Omerza journal March 20-25, 1980

20 March 1980

Went to the Library today. Gladys was back from her vacation so we went together. We weren’t so busy today.

In the evening I visited Mary Tucker for Relief Society. She is working now and we have to visit in the evening.

21 March 1980

Fern Ruiz and I went visiting teaching this morning. We enjoyed visiting with the sisters. In the afternoon, Em and I went for a drive. It was such a beautiful day. Just made you feel you had to be out doing something. We enjoyed the drive. On the way home we stopped and got a birthday gift for Marnee.

22 March 1980

Went to Mesa today to visit with the children and took the birthday gift to Marnee. She will be ten years old on Monday.

24 March 1980

Today is Marnee’s birthday. Our third grandchild.

Bertha came over to Mesa today to have her glasses adjusted. It’s always good to talk to her.

25 March 1980

Madge went to the doctor for check up. He told her she could go into the Hospital but she decided to visit until things had progressed a little farther.
