26 March 1980
Today was the day. We have a new little granddaughter. They will name her Heather. She weighed 9 lbs. and 5 oz. She was born at 2pm.
27 March 1980
We went to see the new baby. She is darling. She has a lot of dark hair. A round little face and a dimple. We are so blessed to have a strong and healthy child. Madge is doing very well also. We are so happy.
28 March 1980
I went to the Temple with Bertha this morning. We did two endowments apiece then she came home with me to visit over the weekend.
29 March 1980
Ted came this morning to start the roofing of the house. It’s a big job and we appreciate him so much.
Bertha and I had a good visit. We listened to a tape Ted brought. It was by Cleon Skousen on the Atonement. It was very good. I would like to hear it again.
30 March 1980
Bertha was planning to go to Snowflake about Wednesday but because of the weather report that there might be snow she decided to go tomorrow. We went to Mesa to take her to her car. We stopped at Madge’s to see the baby. She is doing fine. The other children are all pleased with her. We dropped Bertha off at Florences and we came on home. Went to Church at 2pm. We had an Easter program since next Sunday will be General Conference.

Went to the Library. Ted came early in the afternoon and worked on the roof.
5 April 1980
Ted worked on the roof all day. He finished the roofing by dark. Just had a few odd jobs to do. He wanted to get home so he could go to the Priesthood meeting of General Conference.
It has been a long hard job for him. I appreciate him doing it. It was more than he expected but he had taken on the job and he stayed with it until it was finished. He never complained. His attitude was always good. He is developing into a strong responsible young man. I am so proud of him and love him so much.
