Most of the Carpenters are of a quiet, unassuming, uncomplaining disposition - always ready to support any good work.

Interesting to note a common virtue among the men in the family - always showing kindness and thoughtful concern to their companions and children.

6 April 1980

Today is Easter Sunday. Also the 150th year since the church was organized also General Conference. We listened to one session of General Conference on T.V. It was a good day.

12 April 1980

Ward had a food fair. We had a pot luck dinner and demonstration on food storage canning. Bread and cheese making. It was interesting and helpful.

13 April 1980

We held our Fast Sunday today.

14 April 1980

Today is Jay’s 38th birthday. The years pass by quickly. The greatest thrill of my life was when I first held him in my arms. He has always been such a comfort to me.

15 April 1980

Today is John’s birthday. We are so grateful for him. Madge is very happy in her marriage.

16 April 1980

Went to the Temple this morning with Gladys Beals. Today is her birthday. We went to two sessions. I enjoyed the day met Uncle Ray and Aunt Rilla Carpenter there.

18 April 1980

Marlene came over today. We cut and curled her hair. She had Stefani and Paul with her. We had a good visit. It was nice to have the children here. Stefani loves to swing. It was fun swinging her. She laughed and talked and giggled and I pushed.

Em worked too hard today. He was cutting weeds. It was hot and he was very tired by evening.
