Most of the Carpenters are of a quiet, unassuming, uncomplaining disposition - always ready to support any good work.

Interesting to note a common virtue among the men in the family - always showing kindness and thoughtful concern to their companions and children.

Went Visiting Teaching this morning. Found all women home but one. In the afternoon we went out looking for a car. After a lot of looking and driving we bought a 1980 Concord made by American Motors.

28 Jan 1980

Went to Mesa this morning to show the kids the car. They liked it. It drives well. We have had so much trouble with cars lately. Hope this one will be a good one.

29 Jan 1980

Took the car out to company to have a radio put in. Had a Genealogy staff meeting in the evening. Got in a rain storm on the way home.

30 Jan 1980

Went to Relief Society.

1 Feb 1980
Went to a ward Pot Luck Dinner. There was a good crowd. We didn’t stay for the movie.

2 Feb 1980

Ted and Jennifer came over and Ted trimmed the trees. We had a good day. It was so warm and sunny. We spent the day outside. Jennifer had such a good time.

In the evening Ted and Nancy came over and we went to Christine DeWitts wedding reception. We saw so many people we hadn’t seen for a long time. We enjoyed the evening. After the reception, Ted and Nancy visited with us for awhile.
