Most of the Carpenters are of a quiet, unassuming, uncomplaining disposition - always ready to support any good work.

Interesting to note a common virtue among the men in the family - always showing kindness and thoughtful concern to their companions and children.

Ora Carpenter Omerza journal Feb 4-9, 1980

4 Feb 1980

Found our car leaks. Made an appointment for Friday to have it fixed.

6 Feb 1980

Went to Relief Society. Very good lesson. Was a spiritual meeting. After meeting I visited with Virginia Kenneth who has recently lost her son. She is very despondent.

7 Feb 1980

Went to the Library. There is water running in the Salt River now but the 35th Ave. crossing is still open.

8 Feb 1980

Went to get the car fixed. Put a new seal around the windshield. We also need a seal on the right front door. We will have to go back for that. It had to be ordered. I wonder if you can buy a car these days without having to fix them up.

9 Feb 1980

Today is Melissa’s birthday. Six years old. Melissa gave me a gift she had made. We went to Mesa to see her and take a gift. She is a lovely little granddaughter. We also saw John’s new car a 1980 Audi and Eldon’s motorcycle and their new camera which takes pictures that can be shown on the T.V. screen. We also took Nikki a gift. Her birthday will be on Tuesday, the 12th. Visited with Marlene and the children. Jay was working. He is working a second job selling solar water heaters. We also visited with Ted and Nancy and the children. Jennifer gave me a valentine she had made.
