Most of the Carpenters are of a quiet, unassuming, uncomplaining disposition - always ready to support any good work.

Interesting to note a common virtue among the men in the family - always showing kindness and thoughtful concern to their companions and children.

Ora Carpenter Omerza journal April 19-23, 1980

19 April 1980

We made a quick trip to Mesa today. Ted wasn’t home he had gone out gold prospecting. We found Jay at home today. With the economy in a depression he had decided to try for a job at Honeywell. The solar water heaters are just not selling right now. Madge’s baby is growing. She is so sweet. She is a little night owl. She will soon get her days and nights straight. Today was our hottest day of this year 102°.

20 April 1980

The Primary children presented the program for Sacrament meeting today. It went very well. The singing was especially good. We had good lessons afterward. It’s still a little hard getting used to the new schedule. I guess I miss the singing most of all. No singing in Sunday School or Relief Society.

21 April 1980

I picked up a dress Ted wanted me to get for Nancy’s birthday.

We had a surprise in the weather. After that extra warm week end, it began to cool off considerably by evening.

23 April 1980

Nancy came over today for a permanent. She left the children with her mother. She brought some week peas. She is so sweet and thoughtful. We had a nice visit.
