This is Ted’s birthday. Nancy invited the family for a birthday party for him on Saturday. Fern Ruiz and I did our Relief Society Visiting Teaching today. We found all six of our Sisters home. It was an enjoyable time. Our Home teachers came in the evening.

Today we went to Mesa for a family get together in honor of Ted’s birthday. Ted and Nancy made two freezers of ice cream. The party was a little slow in getting started. Jay and Marlene and family had been on an overnight ward outing. Madge had been to a soccer and swim meet all day and John and Eldon had been on a scout outing. While we were waiting for everyone to come I enjoyed Jennifer and Jeremy. They are such cute children. Jennifer makes herself understood very well and Jeremy is a very good natured baby. After Jay and his family came we went outside to eat the cake and ice cream. Madge and her family came a little later. It was a very enjoyable day. The weather was perfect, the ice cream and cake were delicious and all were happy. I enjoy being with my children and their families so much.

Went to Mesa to visit the children.
Jeremy is growing every day. Almost five months old now. He is so precious and Jennifer is talking and I’m understanding more all the time.
When we stopped in front of Jay’s home, Paul was standing in the open doorway. As we got out of the car he recognized us and smiled and got so excited. He had his pointing finger out (as always) and was pointing and jabbering. Then he turned and ran into the house. Still pointing and jabbering to his mother. We felt we had been announced and welcomed. The other children are all excited and preparing for Halloween.
Halloween was the big event at Madge’s. Each one had to scare us with their masks. Madge showed us her garden and chickens.
On the way home we stopped and got fish and chips and brought them home for lunch. It was an enjoyable day. When we got home the mail was here and we had the family letter from Bertha. It is always an interesting and welcome letter.
