Today is Sunday and I thought it might be a good time to catch up on a few events. It seems so hard to keep a day to day journal. I was in Mesa on the 12th of Feb. which was Nikki’s birthday. I had a white lacy blouse for her and she seemed so thrilled and excited about it. She is such a beautiful girl and now she is 13 years old. I’m so proud of her. She received the highest grade in her accelerated class. On the 14th, Valentine’s day, some of the grandchildren came and brought Valentines. I got a nice Valentine from Bertha, she is always so thoughtful, and also one from my visiting teachers. On the 18th Melissa was baptized. Another member of the family a member of the church. Bertha came over the 24th of Feb. She did some Temple work and then came to see me on Saturday. That evening we went to Brent Lindblom’s wedding reception. It was a nice evening. We got to see a lot of the relatives.
The following week Bertha and I went to the Temple. We visited awhile with Madge and Nancy before coming home. Bertha went to the Library with me on Thursday. I am working alone at the Library now as Gladys is in California helping her sister.
The following Sunday was my Relief Society lesson. It was on Humility and was a hard lesson for me to give. As I studied for the lesson I found I was not as Humble as I should be. As yet I can’t put my whole self into the Lord’s hands. I hope I can increase my faith that I will be able to do this for I know that is the only way to eternal life.
The following week Bertha and I went to the Temple again and afterward visited with Madge for her birthday which was the following day. I gave her the ring her Father gave to me the day she was born 36 years ago. Where do the years go. Such a short time ago when she was my tiny baby. She was so dear me and always has been.
On Wednesday Bertha went back to Mesa to visit awhile before going home and I went and stayed with Nancy for the day. She wasn’t feeling good and I helped with the children.

Today Myra, Floyd’s and Marie’s girl, was married to Jack Haley Jr. We didn’t go to the wedding but our thoughts and hopes for a successful marriage were certainly with them.

Jay and Ted and three grandchildren came and worked on the garage. They are working to get the place fixed up so we can sell. It’s too much for me to take care of but it is so hard for me to think about selling it. It’s the only home Em and I owned and we lived in together for 32 years. It’s hard to uproot all those memories.

This past week had been a busy one. Appointments to keep, weeds to cut, and grass to mow. A dish to fix for a bereaved family. My greatest joy was having my two sons for lunch and a visit. Jay Wednesday and Ted on Thursday. Thursday was a special day. After lunch with Ted I went to the Library, leaving him here to do some work on the garage. When I returned I was surprised and happy to see Nancy and the children here. They stayed for supper. It was so nice to have them. I enjoy being with them so much.
I have been reading the book, “What It Means to Know Christ” by George W. Pace. It’s beautifully written and will be such a help to me in preparing my April Spiritual Living lesson on Developing a Relationship with the Savior.
Today, Sunday, we had an inspiring Sacrament Meetings honoring women.
