Had to irrigate at 2 a.m., so didn’t get much sleep. Went to the Library in the afternoon. The cooling system is out at the Stake Building so it was warm and hard to stay awake. Weren’t too busy.

Made some cookies this morning. The last time the grandchildren were here I had no cookies to give them. They always expect a cookie from grandma.
Got some apricots from Fern Ruiz. They are so small I doubt if I can do much with them but she wanted me to have them. Stopped on my way home to see Virginia Kenneth. Ivan called this evening. Just had a good talk.

Been having a lot of trouble with my nerves lately. I thought I had them under control and I did for awhile but it’s back. Always a constant battle. I decided to go to Mesa and visit the kids. Took a few apricots along. Ted wasn’t home but I had a good visit with Nancy and children. Jennifer had me dancing and playing ‘Ring around the Rosie.’
When I got to Jay’s, Marlene, Nikki and Paul were out but I visited with the others. Jay checked the car. He is so thoughtful of me. They were going to a picnic in the park at four o’clock and invited me to go but it was so hot, 113°, and I hadn’t visited with Madge so I declined the invitation and went on over to see Madge and family. They are such an active family. Eldon in tennis. Glenn is the runner. Brent and Melissa swimmers. They are always getting ribbons for their activities. Linnea always gives me a lift with her greeting. She makes me feel she is glad to see me. I guess Heather at 15 months is the most active of the lot. She is on the move every waking moment. John said if I would stay he would take us out to dinner. It was an enjoyable meal. Afterwards John took the boys to a movie. I felt a little better when I got home.
